Questions About Our Walks?
Find answers to what you'd like to know about exploring Telč at a comfortable pace
Absolutely. Our walks are designed specifically for people who prefer a slower pace—we're talking 2 to 3 kilometers over 1.5 to 2 hours, with plenty of stops to admire the architecture or rest. There's no pressure to keep up, and we always have benches and cafés nearby.
The historic square walk focuses on Telč's Renaissance architecture, town layout, and centuries of local history—you'll spend time in the heart of the old town. The lakeside stroll is gentler and more nature-focused: you're walking by water, observing birds and seasonal plants, and it's perfect if you want peace and quiet rather than stories about buildings.
Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are enough—nothing fancy. Bring water, a light jacket (it's cooler by the lakes), and sunscreen if it's sunny. The town square has cobblestones, so if you have knee or ankle concerns, let us know and we can suggest modified routes or slower pacing.
You could do both, but we'd recommend splitting them. Each walk is around 2 hours, and adding a lunch break, that's a full day. Many people enjoy doing the historic square walk one day and the lakeside stroll another—it gives you time to soak in each experience without feeling rushed.
We monitor the forecast and reschedule if there's heavy rain or storms. Light rain usually isn't a problem—we'll just adjust the pace and make sure you have shelter options. We always have a contingency plan and won't put anyone in an uncomfortable situation.
We do both. Group walks run on set dates, but we also arrange private walks for families, friends, or small groups—you pick the date and focus (architecture or nature). Just get in touch and we'll tailor something that works for you.
